CAIA Testbed: Eastern Virginia Agricultural Research and Extension Center
The CAIA testbed at the Eastern Virginia Agricultural Research and Extension Center is available for research, teaching, and extension activities focused on precision monitoring and management of agronomic row crops. The 215 acre farm is equipped with RTK GPS technology and in-field wireless for precision planting, spraying, and digital data collection. The center is also equipped with UAVs and sensors for monitoring of crops. The Eastern Virginia AREC is approximately a 4 hour drive from the Blacksburg campus, but is conveniently located 1 hour northeast from Richmond.
