CAIA Testbed: Kentland Farm Dairy Barn
The Kentland Farm Dairy Barn is available for research, teaching, and extension activities focused on precision monitoring and management of dairy cattle. The farm maintains 250 lactating cows which wear pedometers and are milked in a fully instrumented parlor twice daily. The monitoring technologies include the AfiMilk MPC milk meter, AfiLab Milk analyzer, AfiAct II pedometer, and AfiWeight automated scale. The Kentland Farm Dairy Barn is approximately a 25 minute drive from campus.
