CAIA Testbed: Southwest Virginia Agricultural Research and Extension Center
The CAIA testbed at the Southwest Agricultural Research and Extension Center is available for research, teaching, and extension activities focused on precision monitoring and management of hair sheep and beef cattle. The site is 10 acres of pasture, as well as animal feeding and watering equipment. The site also has permanent handling facilities and sort pens for both cattle and sheep. The Southwest AREC is approximately a 1.5 hour drive from Blacksburg campus.
