My research focuses on ecological engineered technologies, such as treatment wetlands and subsurface bioreactors, for remediation of agricultural and urban pollutants (nutrients, pathogens, etc.). My lab investigates the relationships between environmental and hydraulic conditions and biogeochemical processes to better understand remediation mechanisms and inform resilient designs of these technologies.
