Klaus Moeltner

Research Profile:

Dr. Moeltner’s research program focuses on the economic valuation of environmental resources and amenities, as well as changes in the flow of these services . Within the CAIA initiative, his primary interest centers on the economic implications of a more sustainable and environmentally friendly footprint of agriculture, due to advances in smart farming and other technological innovations, and on the modern data analytical tools required to assess these benefits. He is additionally interested in using machine learning and related “big data” tools to estimate the broader economic effects of improved food systems, health services, and rural community development.
